Farewell from Miss Teen Santee 2015

I never thought that I would one day be the person I looked up to at the age of 7 and here I am holding the title of Miss Teen Santee 2015. At the time of the pageant I was only 12, but I believed in myself and the hard work and determination paid off. I wouldn’t have been able to step on that stage with confidence if it weren’t for Marrissa, Miss Teen Santee 2013. She taught me everything I needed to know and it forever changed my life. I couldn’t possibly thank her enough! The moment they called my name I took a deep breath and let it all out, I’d done it, I am the new Miss Teen Santee 2015. I’m so happy that Liz, Miss Santee 2014, and Bri, Miss Teen Santee 2014, were there to share the moment with me!

This year has been the best year of my life and it wasn’t because of the crown, it was because of the memories I’ve made. When people say that you’re year will go buy in the blink of an eye, they truly mean it. This pageant has brought me so many opportunities, from meeting new people in my community to completeing many hours of volunteer service. I’ve gained so many things over the past year, I’m comfortable speaking in front of crowds and having conversations with complete strangers.

Becca, you’ve taught me so much and inspired me to be the person I am now. I’m going to miss going to the summer concerts when you were always cracking corny jokes, but I’m going to mostly miss having you by my side 24/7. I will forever consider you a big sister, I appreciate everything you’ve done for me, buying me food, giving me advice, and setting me up for success. You helped me step outside of the box and I’m so glad that we were chosen to take on this huge responsibility together. The universe brought us together and will never break us apart, I love you this big! Tiffany and Kaitie, you both are giant bundles of joy! Thank you for all the amazing memories, you both mean so much to me! I hope that we can continue to make many more. Mom and Dad, thank you for everything you have done for me, buying me dresses, taking pictures, and supporting me this whole year. You two always support any of my decisions and made time for me to achieve my dreams. No words can truly describe how thankful I am for you two, I love you both so much I think my heart could just burst!

Sierra, Robin, and Maria, I just want to thank you three for keeping this pageant going because you are forever changing girl’s lives’. Also, thank you for always giving me advice and helping me with anything I needed. I will never forget you and I hope that we will always stay in touch. You three are truly inspiring and I’m going to miss you three so much this year! Thank you to the City Of Santee and Santee Chamber for opening your hearts to Becca and I. It was a pleasure getting the opportunity to meet all of the Santee representatives and every single one of you is so sweet! Thank you to all of the pageant sponsors for helping to keep this pageant alive.

To all of our Jr. misses and princess, I adore every single one of you and I’m going to miss you all so much! Over the past year, I’ve watched all of you blossom into confident young ladies and I want every single one of you to know that I will never forget you. Don’t ever think that you cannot achieve your dreams, believe in yourself and anything is possible!

To Miss Teen Santee 2016, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it goes by in the blink of an eye. Little girls look up to you, so make sure you give them a big hug. It means the world to them! Enjoy every moment and all the little things.
