Q: When is the pageant?

A: Miss La Mesa, Miss Teen La Mesa, Miss Santee and Miss Teen Santee will be held Saturday March 3rd, 2018 at Helix Charter High School.

Miss San Diego and Miss San Diego Teen will be held Saturday April 28th, 2018 at Joan Kroc Theater. This is a preliminary recruiting event to Miss California USA®.

Q: How old do I have to be to participate?

A: For La Mesa & Santee Pageants: Miss Contestants are between 18-26 years old, Teens are between 12-17 years old, Junior Miss Participants are between 10-12 years old and Princess Participants are between 6-9 years old. The title you compete for is dependent on your age pageant day.

For San Diego we use the same age cut-offs as the Miss California USA® and Miss California Teen USA® pageants. Miss Contestants must be at least 18 but not yet 28 by 1/1/19, Teens must be at least 14 but not yet 19 by 1/1/19.

Q: In what areas will I be judged?

A: For Miss La Mesa & Miss Santee the areas of competition are: Interview (30% of total score), Speech (20% of total score), Evening Gown and Beauty (20% of total score), On Stage Impromptu Question (10% of total score) and Poise, Personality and Overall Impression (20% of total score).

For San Diego the areas of competition are: Interview (35% of total score), Swimsuit/Sportswear (25% of total score), Evening Gown (25% of total score), and Onstage Question/Overall Impression (15% of total score).

Q: Must I live in the City for which I am competing?

A: For our Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee pageants we require that you live in the city for which you are competing. Or if you work, go to school or graduated from a school in the city  and live in one of the surrounding zip codes you may also be eligible to compete.

Miss San Diego and Miss San Diego Teen is open to girls living in Southern California.

Q: Are there any academic requirements for competing?

A: Yes, we believe in the importance of a good education. As a titleholder you will be required to attend many events throughout the year. It is important that you are able to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Q: How much does it cost to participate?

A: Each pageant has it’s own fees associated with them. We try to make our pageants as affordable as possible while still providing the contestants and audience with an excellent show experience. Please complete the form on the “Apply” page of our website so that we may send you the appropriate information regarding the pageant you are interested in.

Q: Can I get sponsors to cover the cost of my entry fee?

A: Yes, we highly encourage girls to reach out to their local businesses for support. Included in our Official Entry Packet is a sample sponsor letter for prospective contestants to use in their fundraising.

Q: How can I purchase tickets to the pageant?

A: You may purchase tickets at any of our orientations or rehearsals, at the door the night of the pageant or by contacting Sierra Billock via email at Sierra@4PointsEvents.com
