Q: When is the pageant?

A: The Miss La Mesa & Miss Santee Pageants are tentatively scheduled for Saturday March 2nd, 2019 at Helix Charter High School.

Q: How old do I have to be to participate?

A: Miss Contestants are between 18-26 years old, Teens are between 12-17 years old, Junior Miss Participants are between 10-12 years old and Princess Participants are between 6-9 years old. The title you compete for is dependent on your age pageant day.

Q: In what areas will I be judged?

A: Miss & Teen contestants will be scored in the following areas of competition: Interview (30% of total score), Speech (20% of total score), Evening Gown and Beauty (20% of total score), On Stage Impromptu Question (10% of total score) and Poise, Personality and Overall Impression (20% of total score). Princess & Junior Miss participants do not compete!

Q: Must I live in the City for which I am competing?

A: For our Miss La Mesa and Miss Santee pageants we require that you live, work or go to school in the city for which you are competing. Or if you graduated from a school in the city and live in one of the surrounding zip codes you may also be eligible to compete. Q: Are there any academic requirements for competing?

A: Yes, we believe in the importance of a good education. As a titleholder you will be required to attend many events throughout the year. It is important that you are able to maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Q: How much does it cost to participate?

A: Our goal is to provide this opportunity to as many girls as possible so we try to make our pageants as affordable as possible while still providing the contestants and audience with an excellent show experience. Q: Can I get sponsors to cover the cost of my entry fee?

A: Yes, we highly encourage girls to reach out to their local businesses for support. Included in our Official Entry Packet is a sample sponsor letter that prospective contestants may use to fundraise.

Q: How can I purchase tickets to the pageant?

A: You may purchase tickets at our orientation or rehearsals, as well as at the door the night of the pageant.
